Interpretative semiotics. An interdisciplinary model for Archaeology of Architecture

Although Archaeology has shown great interest in signs, symbols, the meaning of an artwork from the past or the interpretation of material culture, the development of methodologies to understand the significance of this production is still scarce. Through a detailed review of poststructuralist semiotic theory, which explicitly admits its encounter with the theory of interpretation. In this paper a Hermeneutical semiotic model of material culture is developed through interdisciplinary work with Architecture, Design and Urbanism, obtaining as a result a solid approach to the meaning and interpretation of the material production of culture applicable to the objects of the past that helps to resolve the concerns of Archeological traditional theoretical approaches.
